We had the day to explore the city of Salta so Mia, Bianca and I decided to go to the Teleferico to get a great view of the city of Salta from above.
Then we walked around the city and we saw a protest (there seem to be a lot of protests in South America!) Teachers were asking for a raise in salary and I'm assuming more rights! There were teachers from many districts, they had drums, and whistles and were singing a pretty funny song "Que papelón! Que papelón! No hay dinero para la educacion!" ("What a show, what a show, there is no money for education!)
We then had lunch and to our surprise after lunch EVERYTHING was closed! Argentinians have a "siesta" from 1 pm until 5pm and all the shops (not the ice cream shop) were closed so there wasn't much to do other than take a siesta ourselves :-)
At 5:30pm, after our siesta, Mia and I went for another quick stroll. This time to the chocolate shop to get some delicious conitos... Chocolate cones with a cookie on the bottom and filled with delicious dulce de leche... DE-LI-CIOUS!!!!!!
Here in Salta (and Argentina in general) they love dogs and you can see them everywhere! In salta people put little sweater on street dogs during the winter:
And here are some at the resting spot:
At night we went for our last "group" dinner since we know that in Buenos Aires everybody will go their own way. Most of the group went, except the drinking team who was probably recovering from last night's hangover and getting ready for tonight's bar.
