DAY 33: SALTA, ARGENTINA

Made it to Argentina!!!!!

We left Chile and had a 10 hour bus ride all the way to Salta! I slept the whole way but did wake up for the easiest border crossing in Jama! Then we went through the windiest street ever that was build by the Spaniards to transport silver between the two countries!

Once we got to Salta we checked in and quickly we needed to go to the exchange house to get some Argentinian pesos for the night. Once the group got together the "drinking team" decide to cancel tomorrow's horse back ridding mostly because everybody was hung over and wanted to keep drinking. Daryl then had to deal with the late cancellation of the tour and sent us alone to the exchange house. I don't really care what others do but I think I've had enough of people drinking all night long and coming back to the hotels screaming and making big scenes in the middle of night and waking everybody up... So inconsiderate!
I do think its sad that ⅓ of the group has not seen anything of the last few cities other than the bars! But oh well I guess everybody makes the trip their own and we have different priorities.
I only wish Daryl was strong enough to set boundaries and to be honest I believe it was a wrong move for Daryl to allow late cancellations for the horse back ridding since it was only 12 hours left for the excursion, the excuse was that they were hung over and most importantly he represents GAdventures and it's extremely unprofessional to go from 10 reservations to 2 with such short notice! He should grow a pair and stop wanting to be a friend and put a responsible CEO hat on... I guess he will learn as he gets experience (if he is humble enough to take in our feedback as constructive criticism!)

Anyway, we rushed to the plaza to the exchange house to find out that it closed an hour ago. There was a man on the street wanting to exchange our money but most of us were a little scared of changing our money on the streets so we waited for 30 mins for Daryl to show up and we ended up changing our money on the street and then going out for dinner.
Here we are waiting for Daryl to talk to the cambio guy:
